Something Like War
The boy and the dog
wandering among the dead
and the wounded
do not take sides
they do not care
about the enemy
in that moment
one takes a broken bar of chocolate
the other a bone
neither understands something like
false promises
something like
a war without a cause:
in which death and ruins are
the only destination.
They can’t understand
that life is plundered by unawareness,
self- destruction is no salvation,
and rainbows are not colored inside.
